TOKYO, JAPAN (September 8, 2010) - The first batch of students from Teikyo University
Faculty of Science and Engineering's Aerospace Engineering Department started their
training today at the Alpha Aviation Shimotsuma campus little knowing how
unprecedented it is in Japan.
Gathering for the formal launch the new students listened attentively when president of
Alpha Aviation, Ms. Saito, made the official welcome, and when professor Mori of Teikyo
University explained about the long road traveled before the Ministry of Education could
acknowledge the concept and syllabus of incorporating pilot education into the curriculum
created by Alpha Aviation and the university.
Immediately after distribution of the original Alpha Aviation educational workbook to
everyone, phrases like "Wow, I feel even more excited now!", and "I can't wait to get into
the studies!" could be heard among the students.
After this the students began preparing for the real flight training scheduled for the
following days by going through preflight inspection drills, startup procedure training and
dry-training of aircraft control techniques. By the end of the afternoon, the dreams of the
flights to come seemed invigorated beyond measure.
This undertaking forms a vanguard of next-generation civilian pilots in Japan. Normally an
individual student endeavor, the structure made by Teikyo University is heralding a
innovative direction in Japanese aviation where the strong foundation of Alpha Aviation
ensures a solid result and experience for the students and helps invigorate the industry.
